Action Learning is about:
A consistent group of people coming together on a regular basis,
with the purpose of learning from and with each other.
Each member of the group brings an issue/problem which they present
to the group. These members then help the person to explore the
issue, through questioning, listening, challenge and support. The
intention is to help the person identify options to follow to deal
with the problem faced.
Action Learning leads to:
- Learning about a problem being tackled
- Learning about yourself
- Learning about the process of learning
and taking planned actions
The benefits of action learning are:
-
Working on live issues
- Raised self-awareness through feedback from the set
- Learning how to learn for yourself
- Time to think and reflect in a safe environment
- Action planning and follow-up with the set
Our approach is: to establish the sense of group with sound, owned
ground rules; facilitate the learning process, which supports the
operation of the set; and undertake a review on an individual and
group level.
We can apply a number of tools to support the learning process
e.g. the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, influencing strategies, creative
problem solving etc.
